You may be wondering where I have been.
Have I given up photography?
Did I move to Tanzania?
Did I break my leg?

Nope! Everything is fine. Great really. and I still have my camera attached to me most of the time, but in a slightly different way.

My other site, sunnyvegan.com has taken off in a wonderful way. I love writing recipes, making (and eating) the food and exposing people to a new idea of  ”health” food. My work has been featured by Shape.com, TakePart.com, thekitchn and Earth Balance. There are also a few big features in the works, so stay tuned for those BIG announcements too.

Since you know what I have been up to, you may have a few questions of your own such as ” I don’t like broccoli, can you still take my family photos?” or “I don’t like healthy food, maybe I should find a photographer who likes junk food like me.” Have no fear, what you or I eat really doesn’t have anything to do with your photo session, I think we will get along even if you despise spinach.

Super Fun Summer Mini-Session dates will be announced soon ( sneak peek next week) and will be $99! Locations will include North County San Diego as well as the  Big Bear area.

Happy Halloween! just a few days late, but since I still haven’t edited Teagan’s b-day photos from August, I think a few days late is freaking awesome! The girls had some much fun and continued their costume tradition of dressing in coordinating outfits. Teagan was a skeleton ( skelanimal) and Ella was a sassy spirit ghost.

I hope you had as much fun as we did! now it’s time to get ready for Thanksgiving and Christmas. yeah!

can you tell it’s been a tad busy at the Prince house? we have been traveling, working our way through our summer bucket list, and swimming! both girls have become quite skilled in the water and it’s tough to keep them out.

Well, it was a big day here. A day I have been dreading and excited for all at the same time.

Teagan graduated from kindergarten. *sob* Don’t get me wrong, I knew there was no way to avoid it (I tried) and she has had an absolutely wonderful year!  Surrounded by the absolute Best Teacher EVER, the sweetest students and such giving parent volunteers made her first year of elementary school something to be cherished. Something I am having a very hard time letting go of.

Gosh, I have so much I wanted to say but my emotions, as usual, have gotten the best of me. I’m just going to share part of our day with you and maybe I’ll be able to write more later.

these are my favorite wild poppies that randomly bloom in our backyard every year. they are such simple, vibrant flowers and here in so-cal they grow like weeds! lucky for me since I love these little flowers.

Who can resist the draw of Elmo, Big Bird, Bert, Ernie and Oscar?!
Well, certainly not me, and definitely not my girls or husband. Yesterday we attended Sesame Street Live Show at the Valley View Casino Center and had the best time!

The show itself was wonderful, I didn’t know the Sesame gang could dance so well! When Ernie came on stage in his white disco suit, I was seriously delighted in a great way. It’s clear that the show has been updated to reflect today’s music and dance styles, I couldn’t even count the number of kids literally dancing in the aisles, it was SO cute. It’s difficult to tell who has a better time, the adults or the kids, because everyone was singing , laughing and dancing together.
To sum it up, I think  my 5 year old daughter’s words  say it best.  me ~ “So Teagan, did you like the show”   Teagan~”Like it? No, you mean LOOOOOVED it! That was great!”

I am late to post due to connectivity issues, but I did take this last week!

One of our favorite things to do is visit our local farmers market. The fruits and veggies are always beautiful and the girls love the samples. We also see something we have never seen before and this time I stopped to take a closer look. While I have no idea what these are really called, the petals looked more like feathers than part of a flower and they made me happy =)

I have decided to join a 52 weeks project with some photographer friends. While this is something I have wanted to do for awhile, life is busy and this has always seemed to add to may already long to-do list so I haven’t done it.

So why is now such a good time? Well, actually, it’s not. It’s just that as I thought about our group’s theme of “closer” and what it meant to me, I realized that there will NEVER bee a good time.
The truth is that I am doing this for myself. I want to take a closer look at life, my surroundings, my family. Sometimes I get so tied to getting the perfect shot, that I forget to see what is really happening. I was actually getting so focused on the shot that I was missing life, so I stopped taking my camera with me when I wasn’t working.
Please bear with me as this project isn’t about the perfect shot. I really hope it will be about the imperfect shot, but in the end I will have one photo a week to remind me of my journey through 2012.

We took the girls to see Santa at the San Diego Botanical Gardens and Teags marched up and told him who has been naughty. Ella just turned red and tried to deflect the accusation with Raggedy Ann. ha ha

Yes, I am a bit late but work and surgery slightly delayed my personal editing, but I promised to show a few of these …

The girls had SO much fun! Between dressing up, a big party and candy it was a great evening. Then something else happened and we ended up with this face…

Teagan was terrified as her top tooth finally fell out! I didn’t know weather to cry with her or laugh, I think I did a little of both. The look on her face was priceless.
It’s all right, she was over the trauma by morning and a special visit from the tooth fairy led to this smile That’s my girl!

When the old blog crashed, I lost everything. 5 years of blog posts totally gone, including this one about Lola, our crazy puppy!

Lola is a weimaraner to the core. loving, intelligent, slightly devious, and FULL of non-stop energy. She drives us crazy and makes us laugh, will sit by your side if your sad, listens intently as the girls read her stories and have tea parties. She’s a total member of the family and since I didn’t throw her a proper 1st birthday party, we just HAD to celebrate her 2nd birthday in style.
Fun was had by all, but mostly by Lola who probably didn’t know why we were all fussing over her but reveled in the attention.

Anyway, I just wanted the new blogstalkers to meet the family which very much include my bonkers dog

It’s time for the kids to go back to school- oh yah!! They are excited, I’m excited and ready for this years adventure.

After such a wonderful summer with the kids, we are all psyched for the start of the school year. Ella is starting 3rd grade this year and can’t wait to see all of  her friends and meet her new teacher.
