*Lucky me* - Becky’s House

Lucky me, and Lucky YOU!!!

Yes, we really are lucky, but sometimes things don’t go as planned and that’s where Becky’s House can help. Becky’s House is an 18-month transitional residential program for survivors of domestic violence and their children in the San Diego area. Ninety percent of the residents complete the program and secure employment and permanent housing.

I am sure that by now you are asking yourself what can you do to help, and LUCKY YOU, I have an answer :)  There is a silent auction November 27th with ALL of the proceeds going to Becky’s House! Details to follow, but if you are local and interested in attending, please let me know. I even have a photo session and deluxe leather album up for auction, plus it will be a fun night to benefit a great cause.

The K Family- a special sneak peek, continued…

Can you believe how sweet this entire family is??!! I am SO happy with my involvement with Operation: Love ReUnited because it has allowed me to meet such amazing people. Thanks again to the K Family for allowing me into your lives.

tag- i’m it!

I have been tagged by fellow photog Jessica O. Check out her great blog! http://www.jessicaoatman.blogspot.com/
This is a blog game. Basically, I must post 8 random facts about myself and tag 8 more photographers to do the same. So here it goes…

1. I love flip flops, don’t make me wear real shoes. I tried shoes on the other day and got a blister in 5 minutes- lol

2. I was an Army brat, moved a lot. Please don’t ask me where I am from, I don’t have an answer :)
3. Rats make me nauseous! Can’t even look at them in the pet store without getting queasy.

4. I am addicted to lip gloss. Any kind, any where, a girl needs her gloss.

5. I am a vegetarian. Have been my entire life, and while it’s very important to me, you probably wouldn’t notice unless we eat together.

6. Hubby and I dated for 7 years before tying the knot in Hawaii. Barefoot on the beach, it was our dream wedding.

7. Favorite color is green, and sometimes blue.

8. I love photography. Ok- you knew that, but I don’t think you know how MUCH I love it!! It really is all consuming for me, in a great way =)

Now I get to tag 8 other photographers… Some may have been tagged already but you can still check out their neat sites!

The K Family- a special sneak peek!!!

It’s my privilege to introduce you to the K family!! Annette called me after finding my website through Operation:Love ReUnited ( www.oplove.org ) and wanted to have some family photos taken to send to her husband in Iraq. Of course I wanted to help out :) It was easy to see how much Annette and the children love their Daddy and how much they miss him! Each of the children has a “Daddy Doll” which they proudly showed me while giving him hugs and kisses.

Hopefully he will be home soon and I will be joining the family to photograph his joyous homecoming! I am honored to have met this wonderful family and that I will be there to celebrate with them as Daddy comes home!!

There is a saying: The goal is not to change your subjects, but for the subject to change the photographer.  This couldn’t be more true for me today, I just want to thank Annette and her for family allowing me join them, words just cannot express what I feel for them. As you are with your family today, please hold them a little tighter and remember how lucky you truly are.

*one of those days*

Have you ever had one of those days, the ones where you feel like no matter how hard you try you just aren’t going to get there? *sigh*

We are having one of those days, one of those weeks really. At least I have a beautiful photo to show for it, that’s something to be proud of, right?

My anniversary is this weekend, so I won’t be around til Sunday when I have a wonderful sneak peek for you. Beautiful family, beautiful story, have the Kleenex handy for this one, it’s a tear jerker =)

lolli pop!

Just a few from this afternoon. Ella and a lolli are a fave of mine!! Was digging the color version and the black and white, also doing more storyboards for fun ;)

Hope that you are having a great weekend! It has been so beautiful outside, we are trying to enjoy it.

*blown away*

I am completely blown away with my new bag from snaptotes.com!!! The bag quality, the metal feet on the bottom, the lining, and especially the photograph! It’s SO gorgeous, even my husband was impressed…with my new purse…and that takes A LOT.

What is even better than the quality and beauty of this bag, is the price. Can you believe that it was only $60 (prices range from $30- $150) for a custom bag with a pic of my sweet baby girl on it? Plan on seeing this attached to me as I wonder around town,  just so proud to show it off ;)

Already planning my next order, hmmm, should I get the backpack or beach bag?

*lucky girl*

I am sure that a close up of myself would have NEVER looked this good. You lucky girl Miss K- do you know how beautiful you truly are? A great person all around, so glad that I have gotten to know you.

back to school

Since school is back in session, figured that I had better finish up my 2008 senior proofing! Here are a few more of Miss K’s Urban session, love the clothes and her look =)
